Australian native Adam Woodfield navigated Sydney’s Thai kitchens to emerge as an expert on the intricacies of Southeast Asian cuisine. Now, after 16 years of culinary experience, Woodfield joins entrepreneur and fellow Australian Luke Fryer as a partner to create Betel. The seductive new West Village restaurant combines the sensibilities of Asian hawker food stalls and Australia’s red hot Thai dining scene.
Woodfield's hope by developing Betel, is to showcase to New Yorkers his stylized, modern Southeast Asian cuisine and the alluring adventure of Australian dining. The menu at Betel features crave-able tastes that play on your taste buds, from sweet to salty, to fresh and spicy. Every condiment is made in-house with a traditional mortar and pestle creating exceptional one-of-a-kind flavors that keep people coming back for more.
